Meet the team

I started my career in 1973 with family firm, Spring Estate Agency, and have traded in Hull & the East Riding villages all my professional life. Gaining recognised membership as a Fellow of the National Association Of Estate Agents & Member Of Association Of Residential Letting Agents. As well as family practice I have been involved in Corporate Estate Agency, partnerships and our current business set up in 1998 with my wife Mo. I have always been determined to deliver a highly personalised service with frankness at all times and have a treasured reputation for discretion and integrity.

Philip Bannister, FNAEA, FARLA

After starting my working life as a teacher, I joined Philip at Spring Estate Agency in the mid 1980 s and quickly progressed to ultimately managing one of Yorkshire’s most successful and profitable branches within a corporate company following the sale of Spring. I thoroughly enjoy the day-to-day operation and could not imagine doing anything else. I believe my personality and people skills have allowed me to not only succeed within the industry as an individual but shape the company which we run today.

Mo Bannister

I joined a local Estate Agency in 2007 as a trainee and learnt the foundations very quickly whilst enhancing my skills. I decided to further my knowledge through an NVQ in Residential Property Sales which ultimately led me towards a membership within the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA). After the retirement of a Senior Partner in the firm I took up the responsibility for the property department. In 2011 I had an offer from Philip Bannister & Co and took the opportunity in a sales focused environment. Now Branch Manager and Valuer of our Elloughton office, it’s proved to be an excellent decision.

Matthew Holmes, MNAEA

I have been an Estate Agent since starting my career with Philip & Mo at Spring Estate Agents in 1987. After the company was bought out I stayed on as a Sales Negotiator and progressed to Senior Sales Negotiator with them until 1994 when I moved to another Corporate Agency as a Sales Negotiator/Valuer. I progressed through to Branch Manager/Estate agency partner until 2007, then had a change of career into retail. After a couple of years, I missed the buzz of Estate Agency I came back to Philip & Mo Bannister as Branch Manager and Valuer. I made the best move ever and love working in this thriving company.


I am the longest serving member of staff at Philip Bannister & Co. I met Phil when he came to value our house (and Yes he did Sell it). I started work in the Hessle Office and then moved to Elloughton Office on its opening. I am now in my 14th year with the company. I thoroughly enjoy all aspects of my sales consultant role and have met some wonderful people in the process. We are a friendly, skilled and happy team and it is nice to know that the values Mo and Phil hold dear are important to the team too. I look forward to seeing clients old and new in our offices.


I started my career in retail in 2001 and gained many qualifications whilst thriving in a fast pasted environment. After a few year in retail and always having an interest in the property market, I joined a local agent in 2007. Starting out as a trainee and progressing through to a Sales Negotiator role covering the Hull and East Yorkshire Region. After 8 years I decided I wanted a fresh approach with an established Agent that provided an excellent level of service. I was approached by Philip Bannister to join their team and what an amazing experience it has been so far.


After graduating from Northumbria University in the Summer of 2015, it seemed almost inevitable that I would follow in both my father and Grandfathers footsteps and become an Estate Agent, working alongside my Parents at Philip Bannister & Co. I understand that it will take time for me to develop into the Estate Agent I wish to become, however, under the guidance and tutelage of both my parents and the fantastic team we have here, I have every confidence that I will get there sooner rather than later.


I have 30 years experience in Estate Agency, mainly in the corporate sector. Now that I am working for the family firm of Philip Bannister & Co, I am pleased to go back to what I love best, which is moving people and helping them through something which can be one of their most stressful times


I have been in the property industry for 5 years now, I first started when I enrolled on a Business Administration apprenticeship in 2014 which allowed me to gain knowledge from an Estate Agent where the administration department was the engine of the business. I was then able to divulge into the sales department to expand my knowledge further, I believe that understanding both foreground and background of the industry has helped me in my role as a sales consultant as I am able to reassure clients from start to finish. I am now the newest member of the team at Philip Bannister & Co, it has been an exciting experience so far.


I have been in the mortgage industry since 1980 when I joined Halifax Building Society. I am a qualified Mortgage and Protection Adviser and have access to the whole of the market. I initially worked for Philip and Mo 20 years ago and have recently returned to the fold. It was a pleasure to be welcomed back into the family and look forward to working with the team going forward. I am highly delighted to be working in such a friendly environment
